What are the ages for youth camp?

Youth camp is for grades 7th through 12th. Anyone who falls into that age category is able to attend youth camp. We do not put an age limit on leaders attending with campers, that decision is left up to the church or youth pastor.

What is the daily schedule for youth camp?

A sample day schedule for youth camp can be found here.

What does my youth need to bring to camp?

We have a specific list of things needed for youth camp and it can be found here.

If my youth is going into 7th grade should they be in youth or children's camp?

We leave that decision up to the parents or the children and youth pastor. Whichever camp they are most comfortable with, that is the one they should attend.

What extra costs will my youth have besides the cost of camp?

We try to limit extra costs as much as possible. We recommend that students bring an extra $50 for activities and camp store. For a breakdown of all extra costs please click here.

What will the food be like?

The food at the Master's Inn is excellent. A large portion of the camp cost is spent on food. We pride ourselves in having the best camp food around. There will always be choices so if there is something the campers do not like they can have something else. We also make extra food, so after everyone has eaten campers can come back and get seconds so no one goes hungry.

How do I write or email my youth at camp?

Any mail that you send or emails that you send will be given to the campers at mail call which is usually at lunch. If you want to send an email you can send it to themastersinn@earthlink.net, in the heading address it to your camper and we will print the letters out and give them to the campers at mail call.

If you want to hand write your camper you may send your letter to:

C/O your camper

The Master's Inn

445 Mitchell Springs Rd

Altavista, VA 24517

Can I call my youth at camp?

If there is a family emergency you can absolutely call our camp to contact your camper. We will find them immediately and get them in contact with you. We discourage parents from calling just to chat with their campers. This generally creates a homesickness in the camper and we find that it is best if parents only call for emergencies. Obviously under no circumstances will we prohibit you from talking to your camper, we just encourage that you limit it to emergencies if at all possible.

How does the camp handle prescription medications?

We have specific medical forms for everything at camp. The medical forms can be found here. We have a specific medical form for prescriptions that gives our camp nurse all of the information that they will need to get the camper their medications on time. Our camp nurse and only our camp nurse handles all of our medications.

Can youth bring their own equipment for paintball?

Youth can bring guns to camp, but they must be given to our paintball technician and cannot be stored in their dorm room. Any guns that youth bring to camp must be calibrated by our paintball technician. Campers are not allowed to bring their own paint, it is against our insurance policy. If the campers bring their own guns it does not change the cost to play, it is still $10 per camper.
